Mindfulness Meditation Workshop

Time: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Extended periods of stress can wreak havoc on
both our physical and emotional health leaving us ill equipped to deal with life’s daily ups and
downs. Mindfulness” meditation offers everyone the chance to attain greater self-awareness thus promoting better coping skills.
A variation of Buddhist meditative practices, the pursuit is also known as ‘conscious living.’ Its most famous practitioner is Jon Kabat-
Zinn who said, “Mindfulness involves paying attention on purpose, in the present moment and
non-judgmentally.” At Healthwinds you can learn
how mindfulness training can help you make positive changes in your life and improve your well-being. Dr. Loraine Manzig, a practicing family physician since 1993, teaches the workshop.
When she realized how dramatically stress was impacting the lives of her patients, she decided to integrate stress-management into her private practice. Dr. Manzig has studied numerous techniques including the Mindfulness Meditation course with Jon Kabat Zinn. Dr. Manzig also offers wellness counselling at Healthwinds.
